Liette Marcil is an artist originally from Montreal, Canada. She is fascinated with art from ancient and primitive cultures. In her paintings she borrows images from those ancient sources and introduces her patterns and markings, creating a personal world of mythical dimension. She enjoys  experimenting with colors and with mixed media, looking for unexpected results which she then works intuitively into her paintings, combining the use of markings, textured layers and subtle transparencies.
